On Monday 29 September, Bishop Philip welcomed Mr Matt Woods, the British High Commissioner to the Republic of Cameroon, to the Diocese to recognise the link between the Catholic Diocese of Portsmouth and the Archdiocese of Bamenda in Cameroon, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2024. Diocesan priests from Bamenda joined the Bishop and his guests, which included Heather Hauschild, Diocese COO, and Fr. Bernadine Nsom, the Chair of the Bamenda-Portsmouth Committee, for lunch and a meeting where they discussed, amongst other issues, the Portsmouth – Bamenda special link.
