Calling all young people! Entries are now open for the 2026 Catholic Young Writer Award and Catholic Young Artist Award.
The theme for the 2026 Catholic Young Writer Award is The Church’s Sacrament of Forgiveness: Why We Go to Confession. Entrants are asked to include specific references to Scripture – including Christ granting His Apostles the authority to forgive sins in His name – as well as to the Catechism of the Catholic Church and relevant Papal documents, including Pope St John Paul II’s Reconciliatio et Paenitentia (1984). The deadline for submissions is 30 June 2026.
The theme for the 2026 Catholic Young Artist Award is Forgiveness. This award will be judged by Margaret Mizen, Founder of the Mizen Foundation. Margaret is an ambassador for forgiveness, peace and hope, and works tirelessly in schools and the community to spread this important message.
Both awards carry a cash prize for the winner, with additional prizes and recognition for runners-up. The awards are generously sponsored by the Catholic Union Charitable Trust.
