Sheila Biddlecombe, teacher at Corpus Christi Catholic Primary School reports on last week’s visit of St Carlo’s relics.

On Thursday 12th March, the relics of St Carlo Acutis visited Corpus Christi Catholic Primary School in Portsmouth, giving our school community a very special opportunity for prayer and reflection.

One of the school’s classes, named after St Carlo Acutis, led a beautiful and reflective liturgy about his life. The children shared how Carlo used his love for technology to spread devotion to the Eucharist and how he chose to live a simple life centred on faith, kindness and helping others. Their thoughtful prayers and reflections helped everyone present to remember the message Carlo left for young people: that holiness is possible for everyone.

In memory of St Carlo’s simple lifestyle, children and staff came to school wearing jeans, hoodies and trainers. This meaningful gesture reminded us that sainthood is not about appearances, but about living with humility, love and faith in everyday life.

Children also had the opportunity to venerate the relic, taking a quiet moment for prayer and reflection.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Fr Anthony and Fr Emmanuel for joining us and helping to make this visit such a memorable and prayerful occasion for our whole school and parish community.
